Our Journey Home: Preparation

homeowner-tax-benefitsWe’re meeting with the realtor tomorrow and I couldn’t be more excited. We received her name from one of my husband’s co-workers, and he’s assured us that she is willing to go above and beyond for us through this process. So far, she’s been crazy flexible about everything, which I think is a good sign.

I’ve been doing a couple of things to prepare us for this so far, tips I think will help anyone looking into buying a home. I’ve been researching a lot on Bankrate.com and Nolo.com. Both sites have great tips on real estate transactions and aren’t so wordy and corporate that you’d have to go bug a financial planner to go figure it all out.

I also plan on purchasing my credit score again, just to make sure nothing negative is on there since the last time I looked at it a few months ago. I paid off my credit card balance back in October, so I’m hoping that bumped me up a few points.
