I do not have to tell you the college is expensive. When I was in high school, looking at my options for college, I knew I had to make a wise decision. Loans were an option, sure, but I didn’t want to spend a significant chunk of my salary post-college, paying down my student loans for the rest of my life. My parents did the best they could to help me afford the college of my choice, but I had to consider the most financially smart move.
Even though my kids are 7 and 5, the next 10 years are going to fly by and before I know it, they’ll be sending off college applications. The good folks at CollegeAdvantage know that while it can be tough for parents to set aside money for college, it’s also smart to start early, to give yourself more time and less pressure! I feel like we can all relate to Amy and Bruce, in this video below:
CollegeAdvantage is giving away $529 to coincide with National College Savings Day on May 29. “We’re using this giveaway and 529 Day to encourage families to start saving today toward future college costs,” said Paul Paeglis, executive director of the Ohio Tuition Trust Authority, which manages CollegeAdvantage. “Parents of newborns and young children who start saving today have a longer time horizon to make contributions and allow their savings to grow.”
The $529 prize can be for the benefit of your child, grandchild, niece, nephew, self, friend, or other loved one. You can then use the CollegeAdvantage funds to pay the beneficiary’s qualified higher education expenses at any accredited college or university in the country. Winners can be from any state and entrants must be 18 years or older to win.
The winner will be chosen on May 29 at 6 p.m. Use the Rafflecopter below to enter!

This is a great opportunity and giveaway. As a single mother, I can only hope to find a way to financially support my kids’ college bills. I only have thirteen years left to figure out how to do that, lol!
