Back in 2011, I held a short fundraiser to help a young mom afford her college textbooks that semester. We raised $300 and it went to Emily Lingenfelser, a whip-smart mom of one, who graduated from college in 2013!
I loved the feeling of being able to help someone achieve their dreams and decided it was high time we did it again.
This year, we are looking to raise $300 for a young mom to go back to school in the fall! Could it be you?
Here’s how to apply:
1) Send a 300-word essay detailing why you are studying your chosen field to tara@theyoungmommylife.com. Have you dreamed of being a psychologist since you were a child? Did you take up nursing because you think nurses rock the planet? Tell me what your dreams are so we can get a sense of who you are.
2) Please be prepared to verify enrollment in an institution of higher education. We will need to see a fall 2014/spring 2015 schedule.
3) All entries will be judged by our scholarship panel! Former student-parents will be judging the entries and selecting their top two.
This is preliminary information for the scholarship, as we are still waiting to see how much money we will be able to raise!
You can help with that by purchasing one of the YML Scholarship Tees.
We will announce a submission deadline at the conclusion of our fundraising efforts.
