Sometimes it’s hard for me to believe that I, at 22, could be in the position to do this website. When I was 18, I made a “10-year plan” and having babies wasn’t supposed to happen for at least four more years.
But life happens.
Now I’m the proud momma of an 18-month-old diva and about seven months pregnant with baby #2. Whew! Some days I don’t know if I’m doing the best job I can be and other days I feel great about my mommy skills.
But one thing I’ve always struggled with is the fact that most parenting magazines, websites, etc., don’t speak to me. They always advertise $500 strollers and show you how to throw a fabulous 1st birthday party under $200. I can’t afford that. They talk about relationship struggles that I don’t have, body issues I haven’t yet come across, or job struggles that I’m sure I’ll never have.
What about the young mom? The under-25 mom who, despite what society might think, is completely dedicated to creating the best life for her kids. What about us?
So that’s why I created this site, as a place to share ideas about what works for us. The young mommy has a completely different set of concerns than those in the over-30 crowd and I want to help find solutions.
Motherhood is by far the hardest job in the world – let’s help each other make the most of it!
